If you remember this bit of movie conversation, then this night of baseball is for you. John Kinsella: “Is this heaven?” Ray Kinsella: “It’s Iowa.” John: “Iowa? I could have sworn this was heaven.” Yes, it’s a Field of Dreams tribute night when the Clearwater Threshers take on the Tampa Bay Rays’ Florida State League club, the Charlotte Stone Crabs. Sure, Kevin Costner (Ray) was the star of the 1989 hit, but you can meet, have your photo taken with and get an autograph from Dwier Brown, who played John, Costner’s ghostly ballplayer father in the film. $6-$10. 6:30 p.m. Friday. Spectrum Field, 601 N Old Coachman Road, Clearwater. (727) 467-4457.

Saturday across the bay, the Tampa Tarpons will host a Military Appreciation Night, when they host the Daytona Tortugas. The auction is open on Friday at tarponsbaseball.milbauctions.com. Stay for fireworks after the game. $5-$8. 6:30 p.m. Saturday. George M. Steinbrenner Field, 1 Steinbrenner Drive, Tampa.
