NEW PORT RICHEY — A 44-year-old man was arrested Friday after a woman said he inappropriately touched her during an Uber ride.

Juan Carlos Nunez-Sarmiento of Port Richey is facing a battery charge after the woman told deputies he began to touch her breasts while he was driving her at about 10 p.m. June 4 in New Port Richey, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

The woman asked several times that Nunez-Sarmiento stop touching her but he continued and stopped the car on the side of the road, the report said.

The woman was able to run from the car, the report said.

Nunez-Sarmiento later told deputies the woman did ask him not to touch her, saying he had touched her on the arm and leg because, "I am just a man,” the report said.

Nunez-Sarmiento was released from jail Saturday in lieu of $500 bail, according to court records.
